New Zealand International Convention Centre Elevates Sales Team

Ahead of completion in 2025, the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) has appointed two new members to their Sales Team.

NZICC Director of Sales and Marketing, Prue Daly says she is thrilled to see the team grow again, “I’m delighted to be building a talented team to partner and collaborate with our clients to ensure we are offering the best solutions for their conferences and events.”

After a very challenging couple of years for the NZICC, the addition of two passionate new sales experts will bring the resource needed to re-elevate the NZICC on the global and domestic stage.

Daly says, “It’s a privilege for our team to be profiling Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland as a competitive destination for business events.”

Designed by world-class architects, industry event experts and future clients collaboratively, the NZICC will bring world class convention facilities to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. The NZICC features:

  • Capacity to host one-off events for up to 4000 people.
  • A flexible and divisible theatre (2850 seated capacity, 1100 sit-down catered events).
  • Multipurpose halls of 6700sqm that can accommodate 400 exhibition booths or over 3000 people for a sit-down dinner.
  • Up to 33 separate meeting rooms for breakout spaces or smaller events.

NZICC will contribute significantly to the business events, hospitality and tourism sector and is expected to generate both social impact for the local community, and $90 Million of economic benefit for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Meet the new members of the NZICC Sales Team:

Alana Bicknell, Sales Manager – International

Alana’s passion for business events sees her rejoin the team after spending the last 2 years at MBIE as a Programme Director. Alana has worked in the hospitality and business events field for over 15 years, with key roles at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and Venues Wellington. In her new role, Alana will be responsible for generating and securing new international business event opportunities for Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and will work closely with NZICC's key partners Tourism New Zealand and Auckland Convention Bureau.

Eloise Barnes, Business Development and Research Executive

Eloise joins the NZICC from the Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB) where she was responsible for managing the funding of the Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Business Events Fund Programme. In her new role, Eloise will identify and work with leading Aotearoa New Zealand academic and industry talent to research and present international event bidding opportunities for NZICC and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

Alana and Eloise join Prue Daly and Brooke Campbell, existing members of the NZICC Sales Team.

Brooke Campbell, Sales Manager – Australia

Brooke is a familiar face for NZICC in Australia and has just celebrated 5 years with the NZICC team which includes a couple of career breaks during this time to become a mum of two. Brooke has a wealth of convention centre experience having previously worked for Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and has a well-established and loyal client base within the Australian market. Brooke is based in Melbourne, so she is easily accessible to her Australian clients.

Prue Daly, Director of Sales and Marketing

Prue will round out 6 years with the NZICC team in October and her passion remains as strong now as day one for ensuring NZICC will offer a world class venue and delivery experience for clients and their guests. Prue understands it is our New Zealand based clients who will be using the centre year after year, so until the team grows further, her focus is working with these clients to ensure they are able to register preferred dates for their events. She is a passionate advocate for the growth of the business events industry in Aotearoa New Zealand and is currently Vice Chair on the board for Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA).
