Are you passionate about creating safe, thriving workplaces? The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Partner to lead health and safety initiatives during the pre-opening, launch, and ongoing operations of our world-class venue.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As the Health & Safety Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding a strong safety culture across NZICC. You'll work closely with leaders, employees, and contractors to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support the delivery of safe and successful events.
- Develop and implement NZICC's Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
- Lead risk assessments and emergency planning for high-risk activities and events
- Coach and mentor HS Ambassadors and build safety capability across the business
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice
- Investigate incidents and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Mōu| About You
- 3-5 years' experience in frontline safety operations or safety management
- Strong background in event health and safety
- In-depth knowledge of NZ or Australian health and safety regulations
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and collaborate across diverse teams
- Tertiary qualifications in health and safety or equivalent
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As the Kitchen Operations Coordinator, you'll be a vital support to the NZICC Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, ensuring the smooth running of our culinary operations. Working from a brand-new, state-of-the-art kitchen outfitted with cutting-edge technology, you'll provide both administrative and operational support to the wider NZICC culinary team. Your responsibilities will span compliance management, resource coordination, and maintaining back-of-house systems. You'll also contribute to operational planning, helping ensure everything behind the scenes functions seamlessly. This role is key to keeping our kitchen operations efficient, compliant, and well-organised.

This role will suit a high performer who thrives in a high-pressure environment. In addition, you will bring
- Strong administrative and coordination experience
- Fast and efficient and a pro at multi-tasking
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Exceptional administrative capabilities, with solid proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
- An ability to stay calm and effective under pressure
- Some knowledge of kitchen operations or hospitality environments would be advantageous

Executive Sous Chef
As our Executive Sous Chef, you will be highly skilled, dynamic and have a passion for creating dishes that represent Aotearoa on a plate! You'll lead an exceptional team of Chefs committed to excellence, innovation and sustainability, bringing your expertise to make a meaningful impact.
You will have previous experience in high-end or five-star Restaurants alongside an ability to create memorable dining experiences through the highest level of culinary offerings and as a natural leader you'll educate, motivate and inspire.
Your ability to keep up with industry trends, responding to promotional initiatives and assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations will ensure you drive high performance team culture. With your clear communication style, you'll manage key relationships to obtain the best outcomes for all involved.
