Tō tūrangawaewae, he kura, he kāinga. Your place to gather, connect & belong.
The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is your place to gather, connect, and belong. Located in the heart of Auckland, we are Aotearoa’s only venue with official International Convention Centre status, proudly carrying the FernMark as a symbol of global excellence.
Inspired by Tāne’s realm, our open, light-filled spaces breathe life into every event. With 32,500 sqm of flexible areas, a 2,852-seat theatre, and world-class design, NZICC is where ideas flourish, and cultures connect.
Our food philosophy celebrates the best of New Zealand’s seasonal produce, and our commitment to sustainability and the Tiaki Promise ensures every experience respects people and place.
At NZICC, we create events that matter — grounded in culture, shaped for the future.
Scheduled to open in February 2026, the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is owned and operated by SkyCity Entertainment Group in partnership with the New Zealand government.

Tō tūrangawaewae, he kura, he kāinga.
Your place to gather, connect & belong.
Nestled in the bustling heart of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's CBD, our venue offers an unparalleled event experience. With over 8,000 hotel rooms and 750 diverse dining options just a short stroll away, your attendees will be immersed in the best that Auckland has to offer. Let the city become a part of your event story, creating unforgettable memories and connections.
Visitor experience is at the heart of all we do:
Tāne's realm refers to the domain of Tāne-mahuta, the Māori god of forests and birds, encompassing the great forest of New Zealand and the canopy where birds live.
Just like the forest, it is a space that breathes, and a space filled with life.
The exterior of our structure is clad in two of the largest pieces of public art ever created in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Sara Hughes’ glass panels reflect the experience of walking through the New Zealand bush and looking up through a canopy of trees to see the unique light and colour of the forest, while Peata Larkin’s terracotta tile design is inspired by the waterways and soil beneath us.
Unlike most convention centres, our building is open to the world around. People flow through the public laneway and airbridge, with the city’s world-class entertainment precinct on our doorstep.
Like the forest, NZICC is an ecosystem - a space in which others flourish. Under its canopy, green shoots grow, and within, there is room to stand tall.
We are located at 101 Hobson Street, Auckland Central. The venue sits between Hobson Street and Nelson Street. The Exhibition Hall is located on Level 3, Hobson Street ground level, and the Theatre is located on Level 5, accessible via escalator and lifts.
Our venue entrance points are: 101 Hobson Street and 83 Wellesley Street West.
Reaching us is convenient and easy thanks to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's well-connected public transport networks, you can learn more here. Driving to the venue? We offer a spacious undercover paid car park at 46 Nelson Street, with 1,327 parking spaces onsite, including accessible spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, the tangata whenua (people of the land) on which our venue stands, gifted us the name Te Tumu for our building, to acknowledge the enduring partnership between iwi and those who created this space.
This name is deeply meaningful. It symbolises the strength and unity of our relationship with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei — a partnership we hold with deep respect. Te Tumu reflects our shared commitment to creating a destination of international significance, grounded in local heritage.
Literally translated, Te Tumu means “the foundation” or “the tree stump” — the base from which growth begins. It represents a steadfast platform, much like the core of a tree that anchors and nourishes its branches.
Like the tumu, the core of a tree grounding its existence, this building serves as the hub of interactions, fostering connections that reach across oceans and cultures.
All are welcome at NZICC. We invite you to experience the richness of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Aotearoa New Zealand’s heritage.
At NZICC, our menus celebrate the finest seasonal produce from Aotearoa New Zealand, highlighting the incredible local producers we proudly partner with.
Food is at the heart of every event. Whether it’s breakfast, snacks, or a memorable dinner, we’ll craft a dining experience that champions bold flavours, sustainability, and the best of Aotearoa.
He tāngata, he kai, he mana – it is the people, the food, and the spirit that create greatness.
Our beverage options reflect a strong ethos of responsible service and low or no-alcohol options.

We believe that all who live and travel here have a responsibility to look after our home.
Tiaki means to care for people and place. New Zealanders have a special connection to the land, and want to help visitors travel safely and conscientiously. The Tiaki Promise has a set of guiding principles for visitors to follow, showing them how to contribute to preserving and protecting our land.
"It's going to be something that I think is going to be treasured not only by Aucklanders, but by New Zealanders."
