We are committed to being an accessible venue for all visitors.
At NZICC, accessibility isn’t an add-on — it’s embedded in our foundations.
Our venue has been thoughtfully designed to support all visitors regardless what health conditions they have. Every space, pathway, and piece of technology has been considered to promote independence, comfort, and confidence.
Our meeting rooms and pre-function spaces are configurable areas that can be adapted into low-sensory zones, offering calm and restorative spaces during busy events. These calm zones are designed to provide comfort and support emotional well-being, helping attendees feel safe and at ease when they need a break during the event.
Clear sightlines, natural light, and intuitive public laneway support easy movement through the venue. It’s design that feels effortless navigating with clarity and ease.
Across the venue, advanced digital tools are thoughtfully integrated to enhance accessibility and ease. Large screens display customised wayfinding in multiple languages, with familiar symbols, icons, and event-specific logos to support clear navigation for all.
Real-time directions, visual cues, and tailored messaging help guide guests confidently through each space. Inside meeting areas, layered prompts such as on-screen signage, lighting cues, and acoustic support systems create a more inclusive and engaging experience.
There are 28 accessibility spaces on parking level B1. Both the Hobson Street and Nelson Street entrances have accessible access ramps with an accessibility equipped revolving door and associated access buttons.
Our Theatre has wheelchair accessible seats available. These can be requested by contacted the event ticketing agent directly. These are available with companion seating on a show-by-show basis. All floor seating (the three sections closest to the stage) plus Row DD, are easy access seats (flat floor access).
There are accessible bathrooms on Levels 1, 3 and 5. We also offer a parent room, and all Inclusive bathrooms.
Braille is located on all bathroom signage and lifts, and guide dogs are welcome throughout the building.
A hearing augmentation loop is available throughout the venue.
Our experienced team is always ready to assist and willing to support anyone who needs a hand.
We’re fully committed to ensuring that every guest feels safe, supported, and at home. For additional information on accessibility, please contact us.
