NZICC SALES MANAGER - CORPORATE & SPECIAL EVENTS - FIXED TERM


Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for generating corporate and special event business from across Aotearoa to meet and exceed revenue targets.

You’ll drive sales strategy, manage key accounts, and play a pivotal role in showcasing our world‑class venues to local and national markets.

You'll work collaboratively with partners such as Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB), Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), and our internal operational teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Generate new business opportunities across international association and corporate markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including ACB, TNZ, BEIA, academic institutions and global clients
  • Contract new and repeat business and undertake pricing negotiations within guidelines
  • Lead and participate in sales strategies, trade activity, familiarisation trips and client engagement initiatives
  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients while expanding the pipeline through strategic sales activities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to your direct report, ensuring collaborative and high-performing team delivery

Are you a driven sales leader with a passion for creating unforgettable event experiences? We’re looking for a dynamic Sales Manager – Corporate & Special Events to join our New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) team and lead the charge in growing our corporate and special events portfolio.

You’re a confident and strategic sales professional with a strong understanding of the international business events sector. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in business events sales or business development
  • A successful track record in building relationships and delivering revenue growth
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities
  • Confidence in decision-making and ownership of outcomes
  • Advanced administrative and computer skills, including MS Office
  • Experience using Momentus Enterprise (highly desirable)
  • Tertiary qualifications in tourism, hospitality, business or a related field (preferred)
  • This is a 12 month fixed term position

NZICC SALES MANAGER - INTERNATIONAL

Are you an exceptional sales professional with a proven track record of success? Are you driven, results-oriented, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) as our International Sales Manager.

This role represents a rare opportunity to generate and secure new business events opportunities that will create both economic and social impact for Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and New Zealand.  You will work and collaborate with some of brightest minds in New Zealand and travel to global industry events and tradeshows, where you'll showcase your passion for promoting New Zealand to the world and NZICC on the global business events stage.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients, and of course closing deals. You will be required to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners and clients and have the ability to deliver compelling sales presentations to senior decision makers that effectively communicate the value proposition and benefits of hosting international conferences.

ADMIN TEAM LEADER

Want to be at the centre of delivering world‑class events for Aotearoa’s newest international convention centre?

The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Admin Team Leader to support our high‑performing Sales & Event Planning teams and ensure the smooth, efficient operation of our office environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where your organisational talent, people skills, and commitment to excellence will help shape the success of NZICC as a global business events destination.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As the NZICC Admin Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Sales & Planning teams and ensuring our administrative functions run like clockwork. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the Sales & Planning Coordinators
  • Providing high‑level administrative support across NZICC
  • Maintaining accurate and timely invoicing, reporting and event documentation
  • Managing office operations, supplies, systems and vendor relationships
  • Ensuring client enquiries and requests are responded to promptly
    Supporting client meetings, familiarisations and site inspections
    Coordinating travel arrangements, tradeshows and sales activities
  • Maintaining event and client booking information in Momentus (Ungerboeck)
  • Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external partners

You’ll be a trusted point of contact across the business and play a key part in delivering outstanding customer experiences.

  • Proven experience in administration or office management
  • First‑line leadership or team‑coaching experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong digital literacy

  • A self‑starter mindset with strong initiative and problem‑solving ability
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams and autonomously when required
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships

Preferred:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, tourism, hospitality or related fields

COMMI & DEMI CHEFS - NZICC (CASUAL)


Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for Commi and Demi level chefs. In your role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation. You’ll work with fresh ingredients, follow recipes, and contribute to menu development while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. From prepping and plating to managing food safety and timing, you’ll play a key part in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

CULINARY CREW MEMBER - NZICC (CASUAL)


Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about food and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment to help us deliver exceptional quality and service behind the scenes.

  • Assist with Food Preparation: Wash, peel, chop, and prepare fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish. Help chefs with basic cooking tasks and portioning.
  • Set Up for Success: Prepare raw materials for the next day, retrieve goods from storage, and ensure workstations are fully stocked.
  • Support Our Chefs: Deliver high-quality products with excellent presentation to chefs and restaurant teams.
  • Stay Compliant: Follow SkyCity health & safety policies and food safety regulations to minimize risk.
  • General Duties: Clean cooking vessels, organize deliveries, store ingredients safely, and report low inventory levels promptly.


Mōu | About You

Ideally you will be looking for a first step of your culinary career. You will have a passion for cooking as well as:  

  • A strong eye for detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Understanding of food safety and health regulations preferred but training can be provided.
